Join us on Saturday 29 October at 4.30pm for an afternoon of conversation to celebrate two exhibitions, Within Walking Distance by Hayley Megan French and Karike Ashworth’s Brave Girl: The Warrior now on at The Condensery. The event will feature a very special performance by Karike Ashworth as her artistic persona, Brave Girl.
Hear from our special guest speakers as they discuss what is art for them in today’s world and share your thoughts with us. Guest speakers include Dr Alexandra Lawson, Director of Alexandra Lawson Gallery, Toowoomba and academic, University of Southern Queensland School of Creative Arts, Dr Louise R Mayhew, art historian, writer, editor and creative mentor and Dr Karike Ashworth, artist and academic.
Following the discussion, join us for a drink and a very special live performance of Dr Brave Girl and the extraordinary Hooping Loop (2019) by Karike Ashworth. As the sun sets over our gorgeous paddock, Karike will reprise her Brave Girl persona in a spectacular feat of brave endurance by jumping through 12 fiery hoops. Come and cheer Brave Girl on!
